Government decides to set up customs office at Pokhara International Airport

 

KATHMANDU, Jan 09: The government has decided to set up a customs office at Pokhara International Airport.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Poudel said that the Cabinet meeting held at the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers office at Singhdarbar on Thursday decided to give pre-approval for the organization and management survey (O&M) to manage the manpower required for the full use of the airport.

Stating that the responsibility of the government is on the shoulders of the government to manage the project effectively and to create a situation where the country can benefit from it, he said that the important work to be done for the full use of the airport is to establish a customs office.

Pokhara Airport is a project of national pride. Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' inaugurated the airport on 1st of January. The airport was built with Chinese loan assistance.

Deputy Prime Minister Poudel, who is also the spokesperson of the government, said at a press conference at the Ministry of Finance to publicize the decision of the Council of Ministers that Pokhara Airport was built on time despite the Corona pandemic.
