Manakamana cable car resumes from friday after repairs

KATHMANDU, Jan 07: The Manakamana cable car, which reaches the famous religious place of Gorkha, Manakamana Temple, has resumed operation from Friday. The cable car, which was shut down due to a problem in the power supply, has resumed regular operation after 11 days due to damage to the panel board.

Owner Rajeshbabu Shrestha informed that the cable car was repaired and put into operation after taking the equipment from the cable car manufacturer company Doppelmeyer Company of Austria.

He said that since the repair work was completed last night, the cable car was put into operation this morning. Shrestha said that the panel board of the cable car, which was damaged due to the disturbance in the power supply, had to be changed.

Station Manager Ujjwal Sherchan informed that the cable car was in regular operation after installing the equipment and testing it. Manakamana cable car was completely closed from Tuesday, December 27, after a fire broke out in the panel board here on December 26. After 11 days of closure, the cable car has been put into operation and there has been a rush of devotees going to the Mankamana temple by taking the cable car.
