Bad weather affects domestic flights

 

KATHMANDU, Jan 04: Due to fog, air services across the country have been disrupted today.

The fog is thicker in Terai districts than in hilly districts. No domestic flights were operated due to low visibility due to dense fog.

According to the Tribhuvan International Airport office, all domestic flights have been affected due to bad weather at the airports in the outer districts.

Although domestic flights have been affected, international flights from Tribhuvan Airport are continuing, according to the airport office.

According to the airport office, the flights are about to start after some time as the weather is opening gradually.

On Wednesday morning, many parts of the Terai are covered with heavy rain and fog. The storm in Kathmandu valley is gradually clearing up.

The Weather Forecasting Division of the Department of Water and Meteorology has informed that the weather in the hilly areas of the country is partly changeable.

At present, there is a general influence of western low pressure system over the country. In the afternoon, there is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan areas of Gandaki and Karnali regions.

It will be partly cloudy in the hilly areas of Gandaki Province and Karnali Province and the weather will be generally clear in the remaining areas. Meteorologist Sajina Shakya informed that there is a possibility of light snowfall at one or two places in the Himalayan area of Province 1 at night.
