Jungle Safari to Chitwan National Park from Nawalpur

 

KATHMANDU, Jan 04: A jungle safari 'track' is going to be opened in the Chitwan National Park in the east of Nawalparasi. A jungle safari track is going to be opened for the first time within Chitwan National Park, which can be accessed from Nawalparasi (before Bardghat Susta). Although jungle safaris are held in the intermediate community forests of the district, for the first time arrangements are being made to conduct safaris in the core area of the park.

Jungle Safari Track will fall in Sikhrauli Intermediate Zone, Shiswar Intermediate Zone, Lamichour Intermediate Zone of the district. Hariprasad Neupane, Head of Devchuli Municipality, said that it will affect Gaindakot Municipality, Devchuli Municipality and Kawasoti Municipality. For the construction of the track, Chitwan National Park, Homestay and Hotel Association Nawalpur, Devchuli Municipality financial and Shiswar Intermediate Consumer Committee will provide technical support.

"Besides playing a major role in the promotion of Nawalpur's tourism, the city has taken this as a great opportunity for the recognition of this place", Mayor Neupane said.

Ganesh Sharma Chalise, Ward President of Devchuli Municipality-17, said that preparations are being made to declare this area as a tourist area this year, which has great potential for tourism. "The jungle safari road is under construction and arrangements will be made for tourists to go on a jungle safari from the 4th Devchuli festival to be held on January 5," Chalise said.

Netra Bahadur Pandey, president of Shiswar Intermediate Consumer Committee, said that promoting tourism activities will be a new beginning for the economic livelihood of the slums here.
