More than 6 lakh foreign tourists visited Nepal in 2022

KATHMANDU,Jan 03: More than 600,000 tourists have entered Nepal in 2022.

According to the statistics of Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 614,000 foreign tourists have entered Nepal by air from January to December 2022.

After the corona pandemic, there has been an improvement in tourism in the last year. In 2019, 1.1 million tourists came to Nepal. In the following 2 years, tourist arrivals decreased due to the Corona pandemic. In 2020, 230,000 foreigners came, while in 2021, only 149,000 foreigners came.

In 2022, compared to before the corona pandemic, 60 percent of tourists have entered Nepal.

Although there are no tourists coming from China, the neighbor to the north, the arrival of 600,000 tourists in 2022 is positive, say the businessmen. The Chinese did not come when China did not relax the rules during the corona pandemic.

In 2022, the highest number of Indians came to Nepal, 209,105 Indians visited. Similarly, Americans are in second place with 77,009 people who visited to Nepal.

44,781 from the United Kingdom, 26,874 from Australia and 25,384 Bangladeshi citizens visited to Nepal.
