Hangar area development work starts at TIA

 

KATHMANDU, Dec 27: The work of Hangar Area Development has started at Tribhuvan International Airport.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal(CAAN), the work of the project has started to be completed in three years.

Engineer Dipendra Shrestha, Director of the Air Transport Capacity Enhancement Project, informed that this project has been advanced with the aim of making the hangar service more organized as well as managing air traffic. An investment of 4 billion rupees is estimated for this.

According to the director of the project, Engineer Shrestha, the contract has been given to the Chinese manufacturer CCECC KDN Airport Engineering JV for the transfer of the hangar of the currently operated Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and the Nepalese Army.

"The hangar of the army and the corporation is going to be transferred to the land used for the helicopter parking on the east side of the airport," he said.

With the completion of the hangar area development work, the construction of the modern international terminal building will start in the area on the north side, according to the project.
