Certificates hand over to 300 participants in training

KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Certificates were handed over to the participants in the training organized by the Sustainable Tourism Project for Livelihood Regeneration (STLRP) in collaboration with Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA).

In the program organized by the Nepal Tourism Board Suresh Adhikari, Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation,  Ayshanie Medagangoda-Labé, Resident Representative for UNDP in Nepal and Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi, cheif executive officer of NTB  distributed the certificates.

The project provided training to 300 people in various locations such as air ticketing, tour operator, customer service. Distributing certificates in the program, the secretary officer of the ministry said that skilled manpower is necessary for the development of tourism. He says that the manpower produced through the training will help the tourism industry even if it is small.

UNDP Nepal chief Labe said that she is happy that UNDP is working in the tourism sector of Nepal through the medium of STLRP project. She also thought that she could work on a new project in the coming days.

The CEO of the NTB and the national program director of the project Dr. Dhananjaya Regmi emphasized on the need to conduct such training according to the demands and needs of organizations related to tourism.

Maniraj Lamichhane, the director of the NTB and the project's national program coordinator, said that the project, which was started in a situation where the tourism sector was paralyzed due to Covid, is working on short-term employment, tourism product manufacturing and manpower development, and the entire tourism sector has benefited from this.
