Cycling in Baglung to promote tourism

BAGLUNG, Dec 24: A cycle rally has started from Baglung Kalika Temple to Bindhyabasini Temple in Pokhara to promote tourism.

The cycle rally was organized in coordination with the organization of Cycle City Pokhara and organizations such as Baglung Municipality, Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Shaligram Museum.

Manibhadra Sharma, Minister of Tourism, Industry, Commerce and Supplies of Gandaki Province, inaugurated the cycle rally at Baglung Kalika Temple. He said that the rally has an important message for protecting the environment and promoting tourism.

Naresh Kandel, President of Baglung Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that the cycle rally will bring an awareness message on environmental protection and bring Baglung and Pokhara closer through tourism.

On the occasion of the Mayor's Cup cycle race held in Pokhara, the Baglung Municipality has informed that a rally has been requested to create an environment for the tourists coming to Pokhara to come to Baglung.

"We are managing the cycle rally together in Baglung", said Kopilamani Sharma, Executive Mayor of Baglung Municipality, "The rally will give a message to the tourists coming to Pokhara that there are places to visit in Baglung too."

Two hundred passengers from Kathmandu, Sindhupalchok, Banke, Rupandehi, Sunsari, Nuwakot, Dhading, Syangja, Tanahun and other districts are participating in the cycle rally.

It is believed that tourists who go directly to Mustang from Pokhara can choose the Baglung route after this. The message of the competition organized in Pokhara with the slogan 'Thopa Thopa Indhan Bachau', inviting foreign bicycle tourists and domestic tourism, was given from Baglung. The cycle rally will start from Baglung Kalika and pass through Kushma Bazar in Parbat and reach Bindhyabasini Temple in Pokhara.
