Domestic flight affected due to low visibility

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Domestic flights have been affected due to low 'visibility' due to thick fog/fog in Terai. According to the Tribhuvan International Airport office, the flight was affected due to insufficient visibility of airports other than Bhadrapur, Pokhara, Dhangadhi, Surkhet, Lumlingtar.

Teknath Sitaula, the spokesperson of the office, mentioned that especially at the airport in the Terai region, flights may continue to be affected due to fog and fog in the next few days.

Buddha Air's information officer Dipendra Kumar Karna informed that the flights at all airports in the Terai region have been affected since morning due to poor visibility. "Due to low visibility at Terai Airport, flights have been affected since morning. We are waiting to see if some airports open after 12 o'clock. As the flight is affected, it is difficult for the passengers to reach their destination, he said.

According to Yeti Airlines spokesperson Sudarshan Bertaula, flights at all airports except Bhadrapur and Pokhara have been affected on Thursday.

There are about 300 domestic flights daily. Buddha Air has a maximum of 150 two-way flights. Yeti Airlines has 58 flights daily. Similarly, Shree Airlines, Saurya Airlines, Guna Airlines also fly to various destinations in domestic flights. 20 air service providers including 11 helicopter companies have been flying internally.

Although there is no significant weather system in the country at present, there is fog/fog in some places in the Terai area and there is a partial change in the hilly areas of the country, according to the weather forecast division of the Department of Water and Meteorology.

In the afternoon, the weather will be generally clear in Gandaki and Lumbini provinces as well as in the hilly areas of Province 1 and Bagmati. On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Kathmandu was 19 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature was 7.6 degrees Celsius.
