Govt to Sign Air Service Agreement with 4 countries

KATHMANDU, Dec 14: The government has prepared air agreements with four countries.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation has initiated air agreements with four countries including the United States.

The four countries that are about to sign additional agreements are Indonesia, Switzerland, Rwanda and the United States.

In the first week of last October, US officials came to Nepal to inspect Nepal's air security. After that, the government started the process of signing an air agreement with the US.

1 year ago, the ambassador of Ruwanda also proposed with the ministry to have an air contract.

In the second week of October, the government decided to proceed with the air agreement with the US and Switzerland.

There is no direct flight to countries where more tourists come, so they have to travel through third countries. If there is an air agreement between the two countries, it is possible to fly to each other country. That is why the government is preparing to fly to more countries.

After the air agreement with America, United Airlines, American Airlines, Nepal Airlines, Himalaya Airlines can fly directly between the two countries.

An official of the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation told Nepalkhabar that the process of air agreement with four countries and amendment of the existing agreement with two countries has progressed.

According to this, the official said that they are going to amend the air agreement with Kuwait and UAE, the two countries that are currently flying.

According to the ministry, the air flight agreement is going to be revised so that flights can be made between Pokhara and Bhairahawa airports.

"An agreement is being made with 4 countries for diplomatic and connectivity expansion", the official said, "The air agreement between Kuwait and UAE is being amended to allow international flights at Bhairahawa and Pokhara airports as well."

The approval of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Law should also be taken before sending the Air Agreement to the Cabinet. Consent has been obtained from Indonesia's Ministry of Finance and Law. The proposal in this regard is now ready to be submitted to the Council of Ministers.

Since opinions have also come from Switzerland and Ruwanda, it will now be taken to the Council of Ministers once the legal process is completed.

America is just in its infancy.
