Plane Refueling started at Tarigaon Airport

Plane Refueling started at Tarigaon Airport

DANG, Dec 13:Aaviation fuel refueling has started at Tulsipur-12 Tarigaon airport in Dang.

460 liters of fuel was refueled on the plane of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) on Sunday, said the state head of Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC), Jagdishchandra Yadav. "We refueled the plane for the first time", he said, "now there will be regular refueling."

Although it was said to start storing fuel from Saturday, the plane was refueled on Sunday after it did not arrive. Before the depot was not built, fuel had to be brought from Kathmandu. Mahendra Sharma, Head of NAC Dang, said that although there was a situation where fuel had to be stored in the seat, there is no such problem now. "Earlier, fuel had to be kept in the seat of the plane and brought from Kathmandu," he said, "now that problem will be removed." It is expected that the passenger will be kept in the seat carrying the fuel and that the fare may be reduced.

The depot at Tarigaon has the capacity to store 30,000 liters of fuel, while Bowser can store 11,000 liters. Head of Fuel Depot Dang, Bipin Shrestha, said that even if regular flight services are operated, fuel can be delivered for three months.

Chief Shrestha also said that if fuel is urgently needed, it can be supplied from Nepalganj immediately and there will be no problem in supply. "We will bring it as soon as we need it", he said, "sometimes the helicopter of the Nepali Army may come unexpectedly, even then we will supply it."

Fuel was kept at the depot of the airport six months ago. A team including one technician from the central office of  NOC, two technicians from Bhairahawa office in the province and one technician from Nepalgunj office came to the airport and refueled the fuel. It was refueled only after the fourth attempt. Previously, refueling could not be done due to various reasons.

After the depot was built, it was sent to India for lab testing. After testing from India and also at the central office, refueling was done on Sunday after it was qualified to be refueled. A 19-seater Twinator aircraft of Nepal Airlines Corporation is operating in Tarigaon.

As the runway of the airport is only 750 meters, large planes are unable to land. As a result, passengers are forced to pay expensive fares. Dang-Kathmandu air fare minimum fare is 8810, while maximum fare is 12 thousand 665. If it comes to dong than Kathmandu, it is 200 more. Since there is 500 for passenger service in Kathmandu, 300 in Dang, it will cost 200 more when coming from Kathmandu to Dang.
