NAC grounded narrow body aircraft

KATHMANDU, Nov 27: The narrow body 'A' 320 aircraft of the national flag carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation(NAC) has been grounded. NAC informed that the plane was grounded as the plane's engine did not start due to technical problems.

According to Archana Khadka, spokesperson of NAC, the plane, which was about to take off from Tribhuvan International Airport to Mumbai at 11:30 in the morning, was grounded after the engine did not start.

One hundred and fifty-two passengers on board the said plane were sent to Delhi through another plane. Spokesperson Khadka said that passengers were sent to Delhi at 2 pm on the plane returning from Delhi.

She said, 'The 'starter' of the narrow-body plane is damaged, it is not a problem with the engine, the plane with technical problems is being repaired now, so it will be in flight soon.'

NAC has two wide body 'A' 330 and two narrow body 'A' 320 aircraft for international flights. NAC has been flying international flights to 10 destinations in eight countries, including three in India.
