IATA's directive to make air services at Asia Pacific region service oriented

KATHMANDU, Nov 26: The International Air Transport Association (IATA)  has directed the aviation industry in the Asia Pacific region to be more dynamic. The IATA has asked the airline companies to make the service more agile by operating the flights operated in this area without pollution.

Compared to 2019, passenger demand remained only 41.5 percent in September this year, so the IATA emphasized on increasing the quality of service.

The aviation industry has been facing challenges for the past three years. Most of the aviation industry in Asian countries suffered heavy losses during this period. At the moment, various countries are advancing sustainable expansion plans for the aviation industry,' said Konrad Clifford, the vice president of IATA.

According to the information prepared by IATA, North America has managed to provide services at 89 percent capacity in 2019, while other regions have managed to provide services at a maximum capacity of 83 percent.

'The aviation industry in the Asia Pacific region can move forward in revival. There is no difficulty in operating flights in the pre-Covid pandemic situation. Now it is necessary to expand the infrastructure and human resources and expand the capacity,' he said.
