Himalayan Whitewater Challenge 2022 to be held at Trishuli River

KATHMANDU, Nov 21: Nepal Association of Rafting Agencies (NARA) is organizing the 20th International Water Sports Competition in Trishuli River.

The slogan of 'Himalayan Whitewater Challenge' is going to be held in the Trishuli River from November 27th, 28th and 29th with the slogan 'to promote the country's tourism through the water sector'.

More than two hundred players will participate in the tournament. Shiva Adhikari, president of NARA, informed that the competition will be 'Kayak Down, River Rush, Kayak Salem, Booster Cross and FreeStyle Kayaking'.

According to him, this competition is being held every year to improve the skills and efficiency of river guides and water sportsmen involved in the water travel business.

'Himalayan Whitewater Challenge competition is going to be held with the aim of revitalizing the tourism sector of the country which has been most affected by the corona epidemic,' he said, 'adventure water tourism is one of the major sources of Nepal's tourism industry. For its development and expansion, we have been organizing the competition in Nepal since 2002.'

Nepal is the best destination in the world for adventure sports tourism. According to the presiding officer, among the world's top 10 rivers for rafting and kayaking, three rivers of Nepal, Sunkoshi, are ranked first, Karnali is fifth and Bhotekoshi is ranked seventh.
