Annapurna-Dhaulagiri trail makes Tikot a tourist hotspot

POKHARA, Nov 18: Tikot emerges as a hidden gem in the Annapurna-Dhaulagiri trekking route after being praised by Jack from the World Vegan Organization. It is a calm and serene trek offering beautiful natural scenery and hospitable people.

The Annapurna-Dhaulagiri trek route features it as a popular one day stop to explore the region. This village lies in Annapurna Rural Municipality-7 at an elevation of around 2,200m from sea level. There are homestay services providing local entertainment and traditional food. Along with that, a proper footpath connecting various villages of Myagdi and Parbat has attracted various tourists from countries like America, Australia, France, etc.

Views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, etc soothe the travelers while the traditional lifestyle of the Magar community and the local products found provide a unique outlook. You can also visit Pyari Barah Tal, Panchewalhalne danda and Tatopani Hot spring which are at a radius of 10km away from the village.

The trail, which can be completed in a week to 10 days, starts from the winding lake of Piple and passes through Parbat's Banskhark, Nagi of Myagdi, Tikot via Khiwang, Ghorepani and ends at Bhurung Tatopani.
