CAAN directs airlines to sell tickets only after permission to fly

KATHMANDU, Nov 18: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has said that it has drawn attention to the fact that passengers have been stranded at the airport by selling and distributing tickets in the name of charter flights without obtaining permission.

In a statement on Thursday, CAAN has instructed the airlines company to sell/distribute/make tickets for the relevant flight only after obtaining permission from the authority before taking off.

In the statement issued by Jagannath Niraula, the spokesperson of CAAN, the authority has also warned that in the future, if it is found that by selling/distributing tickets without permission and disrupting the safety of the airport by causing inconvenience to passengers and unnecessary crowding at the airport, the concerned airlines companies/GSA/individuals will be prosecuted according to law.
