86 thousand tourists visits Chitwan National Park

CHITWAN, Nov 18: Chitwan National Park, which is the country's main tourist destination for wildlife viewing, has seen 86,643 visitors in the first four months of the fiscal year 2079/080. Ganesh Prasad Tiwari, information officer of the park, informed that most of the visiting tourists are Nepali tourists.

According to him, 65 thousand 529 Nepalese, 7 thousand 786 from SAARC countries and 13 thousand 328 from other countries are among the tourists visiting the park in the first four months. These details show that the number of foreign tourists in the park has increased as the Corona crisis becomes more common.

Vasudev Paudel, president of Lamichour Consumer Committee of East Nawalparasi, said that the number of tourists has increased even after festivals such as Dashain Tihar. As the number of tourists has increased, the hoteliers around the park have also become enthusiastic. Channuram Mahato, who is running a homestay in Amaltari, says that due to the increase in the number of domestic and foreign tourists, the enthusiasm of businessmen has also increased.

Meanwhile, information officer Tiwari informed that the park has collected revenue of Rs 598 lakh 62 thousand 921 during the four months of the financial year. The park collected the highest revenue of Rs 5 crore 15 lakh 48 thousand 350 from tourism. Similarly, during this period, Tiwari informed that the park has collected revenue of 51 lakh 86 thousand 544 rupees from punishment.
