Germany to support traditional music promotion

KATHMANDU, Nov 15: Germany has shown its willingness to support the traditional music education and promotion of Kathmandu.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Chief Balendra Shah and German Ambassador to Nepal Thomas Prince Willingness to help was shown in the meeting.

Ambassador Prince spoke about mutual cooperation, expressing his desire to help in the teaching and promotion of traditional music. He is interested in urban development, construction and management.

During the meeting, Chief Shah said that for the sustainable management of waste, priority will be given to simple, easy and quick technology.

When Ambassador Prince wanted to know about the current situation while discussing the German government's support in waste management, Chief Shah told his plan.

There are many technologies for waste management. We also have many offers. Among them, sustainable technology that can manage classified waste according to nature is our priority, says Chief Shah.

Giving information about the primary programs of the metropolis, Chief Shah said that work is being done in areas such as protection, enrichment and restoration of tangible intangible cultural heritage, protection of open and public places, park construction, increase in educational quality and increase in access to health services.

The German government supported Kathmandu metropolis through the GTZ program for waste classification and management.

During the meeting, the infrastructure consultant and secretariat member of the metropolis Sunil Lamsal, the head of heritage and tourism department Archana Shrestha and other officials participated.
