Nepali Mountaineers summits Ganchenpo peak

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: Two other Nepali climbers along with Rabindra Aryal have also successfully climbed Mt.Ganchenpo.

Within a few days of Sanu Sherpa and Lal Bahadur Waiba climbing Ganchenpo (6,378 meters) for the first time from Sindhupalchowk, 3 others reached the peak at 11 pm on Friday.

Among the climbers are Nepali mountain guide Ramkaji, Garima Voyage President Ravindra Aryal and New Vision Nepal President Ashok Bhatt.

Ramkaji, who is also the general secretary of Mogan, informed that he managed to reach the top of the mountain easily after taking 11 hours from Camp-1.

He said that more success has been achieved in the mountainous region of Nepal and new climbing destinations have been added.

A few days ago, Sanu Sherpa and Lal Waiba successfully climbed the peak from the Sindhupalchowk side only a few days ago while discovering the route of Mt. Ganchenpo.

"Earlier, our two mountaineer teams managed to climb safely by opening a new route after about 12 hours from the first camp," Sanjiv Gurung, the coordinator of the climbing team and president of Mogan, said via satellite phone, "The route was normal, our climbers easily opened a new route and reached the peak without any hassle. have succeeded.

Italian paraclimbing team world champion Simon Salvagnin and Everest climbers and international mountain guides Luca Montanari and D'Emilia Alessandro, a team of Nepali climbers including Della Mura Marco left for the climb on October 29.

To support the climbing team, Sanu Sherpa Sherpa, the world-famous Nepali mountain guide who has climbed 14 8,000-meter mountains twice in the world, was with her.

Rabindra Aryal, the founder of Garima Voyage Tours and Travel, who planned to open the route and climb the mountain with the goal of developing the future of the local community through sustainable tourism, said.

He informed that they are going to climb with the aim of drawing attention to the project of rural development and sustainable tourism jointly launched by Garima Voyage and New Vision Nepal.

Mt. Ganchenpo climbing expedition was done by Garima Voyage while all ground handling and climbing technical support was done by Mountain Guide Association of Nepal (MOGAN).

The climbing team traveled by car from Kathmandu to Bhotang via Melamchi. After that, they walked through Tupi, Danda, Nosyangpati, Panchpokhari, Chyaksal, Langsing Valley to South Wescamp.

The climbing team reached the base camp from Kathmandu in 6 days. Nepali mountain guides Sanu Sherpa and Lal Waiba reached the peak by identifying the route and fixing the rope in 10 days.

In 14 days, Sanu Sherpa repeated and three other climbers successfully climbed the peak of Mt. Gangchenpo.
