IME Group to be build a cable car at Sikles

KATHMANDU, Nov 14: The IME Group, which is operating a resort with a cable car in Kathmandu Chandragiri, is going to build a cable car at an investment of 6.90 billion rupees in Sikles of Kaski. The name of the company is 'Sicles Annapurna Cable Car Pvt Ltd'.

Within this year, IME Group is also working to launch a project with a cable car in Butwal and Nawalparasi. IME Group has already started making attractive destinations with cable cars at Gaindakot, Butwal, Swargadwari in Pyuthan and Rajdanda in Karnali Chisapani.

The Ministry of Forests and Environment has published a report asking for environmental impact assessment suggestions for the construction of cable bar in Sikles. Under the Sikless Annapurna cable car project, it is proposed to construct and operate a cable car about 6.416 km long in Madi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 and 2 of Kaski District.

The lower station of the proposed Sikles-Annapurna cable car is located in Madi Rural Municipality Ward No. 1 of Kaski district, while the middle and upper stations are located in Ward No. 2 of the same rural municipality.

The upper station of this project will be in Kori Danda of Madi Rural Municipality. From where you can view the mountains like Machhapuchhre, Lamjung, Annapurna, etc. The nearby glaciers are visible from this bio-diversity spot. Also, various types of flora, mountain wildlife, birds, reptiles are found in this area.

Many flowers and herbs that bloom in the Himalayas are found here. The lower station of the project will be at a place called Pwarayum in Sikles village of Madi rural municipality ward number 1, which is rich in cultural heritage as mentioned in the environmental impact assessment report. Sikles Village is a picturesque tourist village located in the lap of the second Himalayan Annapurna.

Considered important for the original culture and traditional practices of the Gurungs, this Sikles village is a village in the middle of the big Gurung village of Nepal, where a large number of local and foreign tourists come. IME Group believes that this project will further contribute to the development of quality and sustainable tourism in Nepal.

The proposed project is a 6.416 km long cable car with a lower station at Sikles Village under Ward No. 1, Madi Rural Municipality of Kaski District, Tasalama Beach Station near Dharamshala under Madi Rural Municipality Ward No. 2 and an upper station at Kori Danda under Madi Rural Municipality. Construction and operation of auxiliary structures is mentioned in the report.
