Domestic and foreign tourists increase at Mustang

MUSTANG, Nov 08: There has been an increase in the arrival of domestic and foreign tourists in the Muktinath area of Mustang, a district across the Himalayas.

According to the Muktinath Development Committee, there has been an increase in the number of religious tourists visiting Muktinath temple and trekking tourists as the tourism season has increased in Muktinath in Mustang.

At present, with the arrival of the season for visiting the Mustang and visiting the Muktinath temple, there has been an increase in domestic and foreign tourism arrivals, and the hotels in the Muktinath area are full of Mustangs.

Mustang, which can only do business for two seasons a year, has been excited by the increase in tourists during the season in hotels and other businesses in the Muktinath area. According to the local businessmen of Mustang, with the increase in the number of religious tourists visiting Muktinath and trekking tourism, the number of foreign and domestic tourists has started to be seen in the hotels of Mustang.

The businessmen said that there is a high influx of Indian tourists especially in the Muktinath area. According to the hoteliers of Muktinath area, the occupancy rate of Mustang hotels has increased to over 80 percent after Dashain Tihar compared to normal conditions.

Eric Inn Hotel owner Sujan Tulachan said that the hotels in the Mustang Muktinath area are full of domestic, Indian and other foreign tourists who visit Muktinath after Tihar.

He said that Nepalese and Indian tourists are running hotels with full occupancy. Tulachan, the owner, said that although there was a delay due to road problems due to two years of Covid-19 and this year after Dussein, the arrival of tourists has added more excitement.

Similarly, Suraj Gurung, owner of Grand Sambalala Hotel in Mustang Muktinath, also said that after Tihar, all the hotels in Mustang are full of domestic, Indian and foreign tourists. He said that there will be an increase in the number of tourists in Mustang during the months of October and November for trekking and Muktinath Darshan.

Gurung said that the current season is more satisfactory for hoteliers than previous years. He said that if the local and central government can make the roads easy for religious Indians and domestic and trekking tourism in Muktinath area of Mustang, all kinds of tourists can be brought in.

Domestic tourism also seems to have increased as the current time is the most suitable for visiting Mustang. With the tourist season in Mustang, which is known as the district across the mountains, there is a lot of domestic and foreign tourists.

As the movement of tourists has increased, the development and expansion of hotels and other tourism infrastructure in the Muktinath area of Mustang has been increasing recently. With the development and expansion of tourism infrastructure in Mustang, Muktinath area can become a religious pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists and a major destination for trekking tourists.

The major tourist destinations of Mustang are Muktinath, Jomsom, Kagbeni, Lomanthang, Korola Naka, Marfa Village, Thini, Dhumba Lake and others.

Mustang is one of the major tourist destinations in the country. Recently, with the increase in tourists in all the tourist areas of Nepal, nearly 500,000 foreign tourists have entered Nepal in a period of 10 months, according to the Board.
