SOTTO Nepal promoting tourism in Janakpur

KATHMANDU, Nov 07: Society Travel and Tours Operators Nepal (SOTTO Nepal) has completed an observation tour and interaction program in Janakpur with the aim of promoting tourism. In the program organized on the occasion of Chhath, the great festival of Hindus, the issue of increasing the arrival of tourists in Janakpur and prolonging the stay of tourists was discussed.

Narayan Parajuli, president of Sotto, informed that he visited Janakpur with the aim of promoting internal tourism. "Janakpur itself is a well-known religious destination, but there is a problem that tourists do not stay here for more than one day, so this interaction program has been organized to solve this problem," he said.

Similarly, Sotto General Secretary Bhuwan Bahadur Pandey said that Sotto Nepal will play an active role in promoting internal tourism to the holy land of Janakpur and will assist in the search and promotion of new destinations. "Janaki Temple in Janakpur along with Jaleshwar, Dhanusha Dham (a place where a part of the bow broken by Ram in Sita's Swayamvar is kept) etc. are in the shade and need to be publicized," he said.

Sheetal Shah, Chairman of Greater Janakpur Area Development Council, said that he is positive about the program organized by Sotto Nepal thinking about Janakpur. Stating that it is necessary to promote Janakpur in the long term, he expressed his happiness for the support given by Sotto in his efforts.

Similarly, Manoj Kumar Shah, mayor of Janakpurdham sub-metropolitan city, said that after becoming the mayor, he is making every possible effort to make Janakpur Dham more clean, beautiful and developed. He said that he emphasized on public toilets, parking arrangements, the behavior of locals with tourists, etc. "Janakpur is famous in itself, but I am trying to improve the problems, weaknesses and bad aspects of Janakpur and make it the best Janakpur, and our sub-metropolitan city is positive towards the commitment made by Sotto Nepal to support it," he said.

 In this program, there was collaboration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Janakpur, Janakpur Dham sub-metropolitan city, Greater Janakpur Area Development Council and others.

To make this program successful, the central committee member of Sotto Nepal and tourism businessman Ramswarup Mahaseth, the president of Janakpur province Sotto Nepal Birendra Shah and all the officials of the working committee had a coordinating role.
