Thaha Photo Exhibition 2079 completed

KATHMANDU, Nov 07: Thaha Photo Exhibition 2079 has been completed in Basantapur, Kathmandu, organized by Thaha Municipality.

About 13,000 people, including 600 foreigners, have seen the exhibition, which was completed.

The three-day photo exhibition was organized with the support of Thaha Municipality, coordination of neighboring Indrasarovar Rural Municipality, promotion of Tourism Board, management of local organization, different thinking and Om Adhyay Retreat.

Around 100 photos of tourist destinations, natural beauty, lifestyle, art, culture, religious places around Thaha Nagar and Indira Sarobar, taken by local young photojournalist Ganesh Bisht, were put on display from November 4th to 6th.

Jeevanram Shrestha, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of the Government of Nepal, while inaugurating the program, said that there is a high potential for tourism in Thaha Nagar.

Minister Shrestha said that Thaha Nagar will be developed by including the 73-point tourism development action plan issued by the Nepal government.

He said, 'The photo exhibition organized by the municipality will help in promoting tourism.'

He said that this photo exhibition has set a new destination for domestic and foreign tourists as the Nepal government has declared the decade of tourism from 2023 to 2032.

Bishnu Bahadur Bista, head of Thaha Municipality, the organizer of the event, expressed his happiness that the photo exhibition has helped the development of tourism in Thaha and that he got the opportunity to introduce his village and place in the heart of the federal capital of the country.

Yadav Jung Rayamajhi, the coordinator of Fars Soch, an organization responsible for managing the event, said that tourists from Germany, New Zealand, Canada and Ukraine bought the photos in the exhibition, and more than 250 photos were sold.

Arjun Singh Thakuri of Om Adhyay Retreat, the main supporting organization of the program, said that the photo exhibition played a positive role in the promotion and publicity of tourism in Thaha Nagar, Indra Sarovar and North Makwanpur as a whole.
