Domestic tourist activity in Beldhunga

BAGLUNG, Nov 03: The movement of domestic tourists is increasing in Beldhunga, a tourist spot in Baglung. The number of tourists coming to Beldhunga has gradually increased after the promotion and development of tourist infrastructure.

Beldhunga is located on the border of Kathekhola Rural Municipality-3 Dhamja Okhale of Baglung and Beni Municipality-3 Bhakimli of Myagdi. The infrastructure was built in Beldhunga, which became deserted after the upper part was destroyed by a landslide, in partnership with the Gandaki provincial government and local people. Tourists coming to Bel dhunga have been erased due to community housing established in Okhale of Dhamja.

Ramesh KC of Jaimini Municipality said that the arrival of Beldhunga was very joyful and added energy.

"He knew about it from the news and social media, but when he came here, it was better than what he had heard. The view of the trekking route and the mountains captivated him," he said. The new structure built after the demolition of the Beldhunga in the form of stone-printed railings, entrances, information boards and natural lookout towers has added to the attraction.

From here, one can observe the mountain range, Myagdi headquarter Beni and the high mountain range. According to local Gopal Sris, tourists have started coming here due to the naming of the top of the natural hill, publicity and infrastructure construction.

"The municipality and Gandaki province have supported us, we have also been running Gharbas for five years," said Sris, who is also the owner of Bel dunga Community Gharbas, "now more tourists come here on Fridays and Saturdays than other times."

After the initiative and efforts of the locals of both districts, now Beldhunga has not only brought a new form, but Bel dhunga has already been recognized nationally. Bel dhunga, which is anonymous, has become a center of tourist attraction due to its characteristics and publicity. For the development of Bel dhunga, the Gandaki state government allocated a budget of Rs.20 lakh two years ago and Rs.20 lakh in the current financial year.

The destination can be reached from Baglung market after a two-hour road journey and is easily reached from Myagdi. Mankumari Bhandari, a local, says that seeing the beautiful snow range seen from Bel dhunga at a height of 2,612 meters above sea level, the villages of two different districts and the natural scenery is enticing.

The damaged Bel dhunga Kathekhola Rural Municipality was repaired at a cost of Rs.259,000. The road has reached Deurali in Okhle. From there you can reach Beldhunga by using a 260 meter trekking route. Sunrise can also be seen from here along with sightseeing. Most of the tourists stay at home and reach Bel dhunga in the morning to watch the sunrise.
