UML to bring in 2.5 million tourists

KATHMANDU, Nov 02: Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist–Leninist-UML) has announced plans to bring in 2.5 million tourists annually within 5 years.

In the announcement made public for the election in November, the target is to reach 2.5 million tourists.

Mentioning that Nepal will be developed as an attractive international tourist destination, the tourist destination will be promoted in the world market.

It has committed to mobilize Nepali diplomatic missions in tourism promotion.

It is mentioned that tourism infrastructures will be built and improved to extend the stay of tourists and increase per-tourist expenditure.
 
It is mentioned that necessary arrangements will be made, including the establishment of a university, to prepare higher studies related to tourism and the necessary manpower.

The program focused on trekking, mountain climbing and homestay has been said to be classified.
