Himalaya Airlines operates charter flights from GBIA

KATHMANDU, Nov 01: Himalaya Airlines will start two daily passenger charter flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA).

The airline sought permission from the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) on Tuesday for the Bhairahawa-Kuala Lumpur charter flight from (November 3 to 10).

According to the authority, the airlines will fly to Kathmandu-Bhairahawa-Kuala Lumpur and Kuala Lumpur-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu using Tribhuvan International Airport as base.

In order to make Gautam Buddha International Airport fully operational, the authority has decided that charter flights from Kathmandu Airport will now be operated from Bhairahawa.

CAAN has instructed three foreign airlines including Nepal Airlines Corporation and Himalaya Airlines to operate one flight per day at Gautam Buddha Airport as per the winter schedule.

Accordingly, Himalaya Airlines is going to start charter flights from Bhairahawa from Thursday.
