Maoist Manifesto: Tax exemption for entrepreneur invests in tourism sector

 

KATHMANDU, Nov 01: The CPN-Maoist Center has promised to give tax breaks to entrepreneur  who want to invest in tourism activities.

On Monday, the ruling Maoist center stated that the emphasis will be placed on the promotion and development of tourism while releasing the pledge letter for the representative and state assembly elections on November 20.

The Maoists have promised to give tax exemption for a certain period to entrepreneur  who want to invest in tourism activities around remote mountains, forests and rivers. In addition, essential physical infrastructure, electricity, water and security will be managed.

It has been mentioned in the manifesto of the Maoists that they will cooperate with related foreign companies to build a Himalayan Disneyland or a similar mega-theme park at a suitable location. "In cooperation with the state government, a well-equipped theme park will be built in every state," the letter said.

The Maoists said that the Nepal Visit Year, which was postponed due to the covid epidemic and other disasters, will be further refined and developed and declared as the Nepal Visit Year and through this program, the basis will be prepared for the entry of 3 million foreign tourists.

It is stated in the letter of commitment that cooperation with the private sector will be carried out for the global promotion and marketing of Nepal's tourist destinations and Nepal's foreign missions will set annual targets for tourism promotion.

Maoists have mentioned that India's Ram Janmabhoomi and Nepal's Hindu circuit of Janakpur, Pashupatinath, Swargadwari and Halesi will be developed as a religious tourism destination for Hindus around the world by physical development and improvement.

In addition to promoting the Buddhist circuit connecting Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha in Nepal, to Bodh Gaya and Mahaparinirvana in India, the places where Buddha attained enlightenment, the Buddhist circuit connecting Lumbini to Kathmandu, Farping Padmasambhava Cave, Swayambhu, Buddha and Namo Buddha will be developed and promoted as a religious tourism destination for Buddhists around the world.

It is mentioned in the letter of commitment that an international Buddha festival will be held every year on the day of Buddha Jayanti and a state-of-the-art Birthib Center will be established in Lumbini for Buddhist pilgrims.
