Domestic tourists reaching Manungkot to see fog and sunrise

TANAHUN, Nov 01: With the onset of cold weather, fog covers the Damauli market.

As the sun begins to shine, the fog slowly breaks. And the Damauli market looks colorful. A beautiful snow chain is also visible.

With the onset of cold weather, domestic tourists are increasingly arriving at Manungkot in Beas Municipality-5 of Tanahun to see the fog and sunrise.

Manungkot, which is being developed as a tourist destination, has gradually started to see an increase in the number of tourists.

Bishnu Kumar Shrestha, Ward President of Beyas Municipality-5 said that since Manungkot can see fog, sunrise and the picturesque mountain range, the traffic of tourists has increased.

"During the winter months, there has been an increase in the number of tourists going up to Manungkot to see Damauli, the sunrise and the mountains covered in fog. Around 100 tourists are reaching Manungkot every day," Shrestha said.

Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Annapurna, Manaslu, Lamjung mountains can be seen from Manungkot.

Sougatraj Khanian of Byas Municipality-3 Shantinagar said that the view from Manungkot in the morning is very attractive. "It is a pleasure to sit on the hill and watch the fog covering the Damauli market, the view from here is really enticing," he said.

After the increase in tourists in Manungkot, even those who left the village and came down to the city have started doing business again in Manungkot.

Basanti Thapa, who left Manungkot in 2052 due to the lack of Nepali, is now running a hotel in Manungkot.

She said that she left Damauli and went up to Manungkot again due to the increase in the number of tourists in Manungkot.

The road to Manungkot is black. 4,300 meters of road from Alanche to Manungkot has been paved. 180 meters of RCC has been sloped in places where it is difficult to make a black sheet.
