Domestic tourist increases at Lamjung

LAMJUNG, Oct 30: There has been an enthusiastic influx of tourists to the tourist villages of Lamjung. Domestic tourists have arrived daily at the best destinations such as Ghalegaon, Kaulepani and others in the district.


It is the tourist season, those who are busy with work and study throughout the year come to the tourist village taking advantage of the Tihar holiday. The tourism business, which has been affected for a long time due to the risk of infection of Covid-19, has become operational only a short time ago. Tourism professionals are excited about the arrival of tourists in the homestays even during the festival.

Ghalegaon Managing Committee Chairman Ganga Ghale said that there has been an enthusiastic influx of tourists to the touristic Ghalegaon of Lamjung, taking advantage of the Tihar holiday. Chairman Ghale said that even during Tihar, daily tourists arrive in Ghalegaon and all the homestays are full of tourists only on Friday.

Dev Bahadur Gurung, chairman of Kaulepani Homestay Board of Directors, informed that the village town Kaulepani, which has become the best tourist destination of the district, also had guests in family groups during Tihar. Chairman Gurung says that even though there is a festive atmosphere everywhere, the homestay businessmen are busy with their business due to the continuous arrival of tourists in the village.

After the continuous arrival of tourists, even during the festival, the local homestay operators have been busy with the daily tasks of welcoming the guests, managing them, etc. Chairman Gurung said that the guests who came to the village enjoyed the local culture along with the excitement of the festival.

The arrival of tourists has increased on time this year in the homestays which have been operating after almost two years of closure. Domestic tourists have also been arriving in the tourist villages of Bhujung, Siurung, Khusra in Banjakhet and other villages in the district where homestays are operated.

Tourism professionals are excited after the arrival of domestic tourists in the tourist villages of the district has started to increase. They expressed happiness that the villages are becoming a destination for domestic and foreign tourists.

According to tourism professionals, the number of domestic tourists has increased significantly as the district has natural, historical, religious and cultural diversity. Businessmen are of the opinion that such villages with resources and potential should be managed with a long-term plan.
