Domestic tourists who came out to take advantage of the Dashain and Tihar holidays have started reaching Punhil to enjoy the natural beauty.

Now is also a good time for students to go out as schools and colleges are on holiday until Tihar. Hoteliers said that the number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting this area has started to increase with the improvement in the tourist weather, which was halted due to continuous rains.

Biren Pun, Chairman of Ghodepani Toll Improvement Committee informed that the hoteliers are excited after the increase in the number of tourists in the Ghorepani and Poon hill area, which is covered by the world-famous circular Annapurna trekking route.

A beautiful view of the snow range and the sunrise can be seen from Poon hill on the circular Annapurna trek. Poon hill is located at an altitude of 3,210 meters above sea level. A trekking route has been constructed to reach Poon hill from Ghorepani.

Meena Pun, president of Ghodepani Hotel Management Committee, said that the arrival of tourists increased with the beginning of October. Suren Gurung, a local resident of Annapurna Rural Municipality-5 Sikh, said that tourists come to Poon hill to observe the snow range that appears in front of their eyes with the sunrise in the morning.

Gurung informed that tourists come back happy with the sight of the sunrise rising from the side of the mountain spreading bright rays and seeing the snow peaks that wave from the east to the west.

More than 20 snow peaks in the mountain range of Manaslu, Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains, which are more than eight thousand meters high, can be closely observed from Poon hill. "We have records that up to 350 foreign tourists entered Ghorepani every day with Dashain.

Most of the tourists are returning from Ghandruk and Annapurna Base Camp (ABC) or coming from Pokhara to Ghorepani and going to Ghandruk or ABC", said Sub Inspector of Police Santosh Bhusal.

In Ghorepani there are 400 beds in 30 small hotels. The hotels and guest houses of Tatopani are also packed with the number of domestic tourists who came to kill Annapurna Funko and celebrate the Dashain tihar holiday.
