Free bus service to promote tourism in Lumbini

 

BHAIRAHAWA, Oct 16: Entrepreneur expect that the bus service operated from Belhiya border, where the most tourists enter through the land route, to Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, will help in promoting tourism. It is expected that the free electric bus service operated by the Lumbini Development Trust will help the tourism promotion of Lumbini as it is convenient for the tourists who entered Nepal by land to visit Lumbini.

Srichand Gupta, who is operate a tourism business at Belhiya, the gateway to Nepal, said that this is a very good facility for tourists visiting Lumbini. He said, "Now tourists don't even have to worry about finding a bus. A good message was sent when we took them on a free bus and sent them to visit Lumbini."
 
For those who want to visit the greater Lumbini area, the Development Trust has arranged a trip from Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, to Belhiya via Bhairahawa Airport, named 'Dhamma Yatra'.

President of Siddharth Hotel Association Chandra prakash Shrestha says that if the bus operate for a longer period of time, it will help in the promotion of tourism in Lumbini area.

Tourism entrepreneur Bishnu Sharma, the owner of Holiday Travels, said that it was a pleasant feeling in the field of tourism promotion when the tourists who entered Nepal were able to reach Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, through a standard bus service from Belhiya.

Venerable Metteyya Sakyaputta,Vice President of Lumbini Development Trust, said that the electric bus service is helping those who want to visit the Lumbini area. He informed us that five buses have been operated after a long wait. The service has been operated free of charge for those who want to travel from Lumbini to Belhiya, Ramgram, Tilaurakot, Devdah, Bhairawa Airport and the area around Lumbini. Thakur Kumar Shrestha, senior vice president of Siddharth Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said that Lumbini has given a new message by bringing into operation the AC bus, which is a world-class service operating in the foreign tourism market, to those visiting Lumbini.

Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Bharatmani Pandey, said that currently Nepal Police, Armed Police, Nepali Army, tourism entrepreneur and Lumbini Development Trust have provided drivers and co-drivers to operate the bus in the greater Lumbini area.

Among the five buses, Lumbini-Belhiya route, Lumbini-Tilaurakot route, Lumbini-Butwal route, Lumbini-Ramgram route, Lumbini-Devadah route and bus services around Lumbini have been brought into operation regularly, said Dhundiraj Bhattarai, treasurer of the trust. This service has been started for a trial period on five routes of the Buddha circuit targeting Dashain Tihar.
