Tourist activity increases in Myagdi

MYAGDI, Oct 16: After the improvement in the weather, the number of tourists has increased in the tourist spots of Myagdi. Ghodepani, Poonhil, Khopara, Mohredada, Singa and Bhurung Tatopani, Galeshwar, Narchang and other places have seen an increase in the number of tourists.

During the Dashain tihar holiday, domestic tourists have started coming to the tourist spots of Myagdi to enjoy the natural beauty. Similarly, after the direct transport on the Beni-Jomsom road, domestic tourists visiting Mustang through Myagdi have also increased. Biren Pun, Chairman of Ghorepani Tole Improvement Committee informed that the tourist traffic has started to increase in the Ghorepani to Poonhill areas included in the Annapurna cycle route.

According to him, around 100 foreign tourists and the same number of local tourists have started visiting Ghorepani Poonhill every day. Tourists come to Poonhill at an altitude of 3,210 meters above sea level in spring and autumn to view the snow ranges and the sunrise. Since it is close to Pokhara, this place is a favorite of tourists.

It is also a good time for students to go out as schools and colleges are on vacation until Tihar. Tourists who stopped due to continuous rains have started going out with the improvement of the weather.

Ghorepani Hotel Management Committee Chairman Meena Pun said that the arrival of tourists has increased after Dashain. He said that due to continuous heavy rains, the tourists who went on Dashain holiday this year were affected, but the arrival of tourists has started to increase with the mild improvement in the weather in the last two days.

Gurung said that the tourists come back happy with the sight of the sunrise rising from the side of the mountain spreading bright rays and seeing the snow peaks that wave from the east to the west. More than 20 snow peaks in the Manaslu, Annapurna and Mount Dhaulagiri ranges, which are more than eight thousand meters high, can be closely observed from Poonhil.

Annapurna Rural Municipality-2 Bhurung Tatopani Kunda under the Beni-Jomsom road has started to see a rush of tourists taking a bath. Tourists going to and from Mustang take a bath in Bhurung hot spring. The women's volleyball and taekwondo competition is going to start from Thursday as part of the ninth national sports competition in Beni.

Baburam Acharya, President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association, said that due to the 9th National Sports Competition, the traffic in Beni has increased and the hotels are full. President Acharya says that the Ninth National Games will help in the promotion of tourism in Lambhill, Galeshwar, Mallaj and Singa Tatopani Kunda near Beni.
