Sixteen thousand devotees visited Pathibhara

TAPLEJUNG, Oct 14: About 16,000 devotees have come to visit Pathibhara, a famous pilgrimage site in Taplejung, during Dashain alone. From Ghatasthapana of Dashain to Kojagrata Purnima, the number of devotees visited Pathibhara.

Dashain and Tihar periods are considered prime seasons for Pathibhara darshan. According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, a total of 15,929 devotees visited Pathibhara Mata during the main season of Navratri i.e. Ghatasthapana to Kojagrat Purnima. Manmani Kafle, Executive Director of Pathibhara Area Development Committee informed that this year too, there is a crowd of devotees visiting Pathibhara during Dashain. According to Kafle, most of the internal devotees have come for Pathibhara darshan. According to the committee, a limited number of devotees came from outside the country, including Sikkim and Darjeeling in India, to visit Pathibhara Darshan.

2 thousand 367 devotees visited Pathibhara on the first day of Navratri i.e. Ghatasthapana. Executive Director Kafle informed that on the second day of Navratri, 2,746 devotees had darshan of Pathibhara, the highest number of Dashain period. According to the Pathibhara Area Development Committee, thousands of devotees came to visit Pathibhara on other days of Dashain as well.

Compared to last year, the attendance of devotees is less this year. According to religious beliefs, the devotees of Pathibhara have come less this year due to blind Venus. It is also said that the arrival of devotees has decreased due to the rainy and cloudy weather. At Pathibhara Dham located at an altitude of 3,794 meters, devotees from eastern districts as well as Kathmandu and Pokhara have come to see Pathibhara.
