HELAMBU, Oct 13: trekking route connecting Rasuwa's Langtang and Gosaikunda has been constructed through Helambu, a major tourist village of Sindhupalchowk. Old and new trekking routes have been built to reach various tourist and religious places.

The old trekking routes have been rehabilitated. The opening of new tracks has also been done simultaneously. Construction of trekking routes has been accelerated to promote tourism.

Nimagyalzen Sherpa, Chairman of Helambu Rural Municipality informed that a 30 km trekking route to reach Langtang via Helambu, Simisidang and a 40 km road to Langtang in Rasuwa have been constructed in coordination with the local level by the Department of Tourism at a cost of Rs 20 million.

These are the only two trekking routes that connect Langtang. The trekking routes connecting Helambu's Kutumsang, Thadepani, Gosaikunda, Rasuwa's Syafrabensi is under construction but is running.

Sherpa said, "The trekking route has also been constructed for the safety of the pilgrims who reach Langtang and the holy place Gosaikund through Helambu."

He expressed his belief that Helambu Setu will become a bridge for the promotion of tourism in Sindhupalchowk and Rasuwa.

The trekking route has been constructed to develop Helambu, famous as Hyolmobhoomi and a religious place, as an artistic original tourist destination. According to the plan, the goal is to encircle Helambu with a trekking route.

The trekking routes that were in use earlier were damaged by the earthquake. Due to the fact that tourists have to travel through dilapidated trekking routes to reach their destination, the damaged ones have also been repaired.

According to local Gopal Lama, the old trekking route connecting the border village of Kutungsang of Nuwakot and Sindhupalchowk to Thadepani, Melamchi Ghyang, Nakote, Tarkeghyang, Hyanggul, Shermathan, Kakani through Sundarijal of Kathmandu, which is about 100 kilometers away, is now running.

"The old trekking route was about to be destroyed, now the number of tourists has increased after the construction of the trekking routes under the coordination of Helambu Rural Municipality has increased," he said.

The ancient Gumba city Shermathan, Hyolmo settlement can be seen at Melamchi Ghyang, Hyangul, Zhichen Mirepa Cave, Dhuku, Mahaguru Renpoche Seal, and the trekking route is being built.
