Two billion spent on aircraft and spare parts import within 2 months

KATHMANDU, Oct 09: The import of planes (including helicopters) and its parts in Nepal has started to increase with the beginning of the current fiscal year 2079/80.

According to the data of the Deparment of Customs, one billion 71 crore 29 lakh rupees have been sent abroad for the import of such goods till the middle of August.

Recently, as the pandemic of coronavirus is decreasing, the process of adding more planes has also started by the airline companies. Yeti Airlines has recently brought in one more aircraft.

In the financial year 2078/79, 6 billion 16 billion 34 million rupees were spent on the import of such goods throughout the year.

In the financial year 2077/78, aircraft and equipment worth 3 billion 81 crore 67 lakh rupees were imported. During this period, the airspace was affected by the coronavirus.

It is mentioned in the data of the Department of Customs that in the fiscal year 2076/77, which was affected by Corona only towards the end of the financial year, aircraft and its equipment worth 21.42 billion 93 million rupees were imported abroad.

As the tourism business in Nepal is in a good condition, the aviation industry is also flourishing.

Recently, the pressure of domestic passengers on domestic flights has also added to the enthusiasm of the businessmen. Currently, up to 15,000 passengers use air services daily.
