The number of Nepalese visiting domestic tourism destinations is increasing. Be it family or friends. As soon as they get time, they go out for a walk somewhere. Moreover, many people plan to travel because there are long vacations during Dashain and Tihar. These 6 destinations can be great for visiting during the festival:

 

Nagarkot

Nagarkot is a famous scenic spot near Kathmandu valley. From there one can have a view of the snow range. It is located 32 km north-east of Kathmandu. Located at an altitude of 2,750 meters above sea level, Nagarkot has a cool climate even in summer. When the weather is clear, one can even see the breathtaking view of the highest peak Everest from there.

Similarly, from Dhaulagiri Himalaya to Kanchenjunga, Manaslu, Ganesh, Langtang, Gaurishankar, Choyu, Lhotse, Makalu Himal etc. can be seen. Nagarkot region is famous for its sunrise view.

Bandipur
Bandipur, a tourist spot in Tanahun, is famous for Newari art and culture. The hills around Bandipur, one of the major tourist destinations of Gandaki province, are suitable for hiking. Bandipur is also famous for paragliding.

The company based in Pokhara has managed paragliding in Bandipur. Those who come to Damauli for rafting in the Seti River also stay at Bandipur for a day. Gliders fly down from Burunche Hill, Bhanjyang Chautara at an altitude of 1,150 meters.

Bandipur is an ideal destination for hill culture, hill scenery and hill trekking. After half an hour's drive from Mugling, Dumre Bazar is reached on Prithvi Highway. From there, Bandipur market is reached in another half hour.


Shey Phoksundo Lake
Shey Phoksundo Lake is an important tourist destination of Karnali region. This lake in Dolpa District is within the Shey Phoksundo National Park. Shey Phoksundo Lake is 3,900 meters above sea level. It is also famous as the deepest lake in Nepal.

Shey Phoksundo Lake is 4.8 kilometers long, 1.6 kilometers wide and 650 meters deep. After traveling from Nepalganj, Surkhet to Jufal by air, from there it takes one and a half hours by car to reach the headquarters Dunai. Shey Phoksundo can be reached on foot from Dunai. There are monasteries and settlements around the lake.

 

Jiri
Jiri is a picturesque tourist destination in Dolakha, which has been compared to the city of Zurich in Switzerland. Once known as the gateway to the world's highest peak, Everest, Jiri is a destination of choice for domestic and foreign tourists. Anyone who visits Jiri, especially the Jirel community, is enthralled by its natural beauty.
It takes 6 hours by bus to reach Jiri, which is 188 km from the capital Kathmandu. Along with the Suseli of Tamakoshi, the greenery all around, the beautiful waterfalls and the rural setting instills a new enthusiasm in the mind. Tea cultivation has been done on many hills there. Jiri's beauty has also increased due to tea plantations. The orthodox tea produced there is famous.

Locally produced cheese has a good market. This area is also a good area for agritourism as there is a llama breeding center run by German and Nepali joint investment. There are good hotels and lodges in Jiri, home to the Jirel tribe. Jiri is considered an important area for school and college students, newlyweds and trekking enthusiasts.

Although Jiri is far from Kathmandu, its development is attractive. The Swiss government has been supporting the development of Jiri for a long time, considering the geography of Jiri as its own. Since 2014, the Jiri multipurpose development project has been started with the support of the Swiss government. The project is supporting agricultural roads, education and rural development. With the help of the Swiss government, Jiri has a standard hospital and a school with physical facilities. All the hills there are green with salla trees after plantation with the help of the Swiss government.


Dudh Kunda Lake

Dudhkunda Lake is situated in Taksindu of Solukhumbu, in the lap of huge Number and Karyalung mountains. Dudhkunda, which is about 4,700 meters above sea level, is formed by freezing water from ten mountains. Hindus, Kirantis and Buddhists all consider this place as a heritage of faith and it also has religious significance. Dudhkunda is one of the most beautiful destinations in the country, which can be seen from the beautiful vast lake and two beautiful mountains. One has to walk to reach Dudh Kunda, which is about 20 kosh away from the headquarters Salleri.

A paved road has been constructed from Kathmandu to Solukhumbu. From BP Highway Khurkot via Siddhicharan Highway to Salleri can be reached in about 10 hours by bus, jeep and motorcycle. Coming by air, it takes about 45 minutes to fly from Tribhuvan International Airport to reach Phaplu Airport near the headquarters.

On foot, you can reach Ringmu in about four hours via Phaplu, Chiwang, Phera. It can be reached in one hour by car. The road to Ringmu is very good and there are plenty of lodges and hotels suitable for local and foreign tourists. In the Dudhkund area one can have a panoramic view of the Dudhkund Lake, Bhootpokhari, Gangajamuna Lake, Ankhepokhari and Mahakund.


Poon Hill
Trekkers consider Poonhill as an excellent destination. Ghorepani-Poonhil area in Annapurna Rural Municipality-6 is the tourism development of Myagdi

Ramukh Aadhar has also been built. 90 percent of those who visit Myagdi reach the Ghorepani-Poonhil area.

Located at an altitude of 3,210 meters above sea level, Poonhill is surrounded by Gurans forest on the mountain slopes. From there you can see the snow peaks like Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, Nilgiris, Dhaulagiri, Gurja, Manapathi from close. Far away from the urban noise and polluted environment, reaching Poonhill is a feeling of exhilaration.
Among the 32 species found in Nepal, there are eight types of guras including red, white and pink. It is advisable to allow five days to travel from Pokhara to Poonhil and back to Pokhara.
