KATHMANDU, Sep 30: Flights to Lukla Airport in Solukhumbu will have to take off from Ramechhap Manthali Airport from Saturday.

Spokesperson of Tribhuvan International Airport, Teknath Sitaula informed that the three airline companies, Tara Air, Sita Air and Summit Air, which fly to remote airports, have been instructed to keep only one aircraft tight stop at Kathmandu and keep the other aircraft at bay.

According to Sitaula, now the aircraft of that airline company will be allowed to fly only one/one daily from Kathmandu. He said that it has been decided that other flights will be made from Ramechhap.

Earlier last week, a team including Minister of Tourism Jeevan Ram Shrestha and Director General of Nepal Civil Aviation Authority Pradeep Adhikari inspected the Ramechhap Airport.

A regular flight to Lukla was scheduled from this airport before Covid-19. After that, flights started from Kathmandu. In order to reduce the air traffic jam in the skies of Kathmandu in the morning, the authority has sent the Lukla flight to Ramechhap.
